Leading a Seminar

The SAGES office provides a number of resources for seminar leaders.

Before each semester, SAGES offers an orientation for all seminar leaders and writing instructors.  All faculty are welcome, but those new to SAGES are especially encouraged to attend.  In these orientations, faculty learn best practices for helping students meet the SAGES learning outcomes, as well as some practical advice for how to promote engaging and productive seminars.

Seminar leaders may also wish to attend the weekly SAGES Pedagogy Series, or relevant sessions at UCITE.

The Writing Program offers specific advice on effective writing instruction, including supporting ESL writers.

For general questions about policies related to undergraduate teaching at CWRU, please refer to “The CWRU Undergraduate Instructor’s Manual,” distributed by the Office of Undergraduate Studies.

All other inquiries may be directed to the appropriate person in the SAGES Office.
