Food & Communities Symposium with SAGES Fellow Nárcisz Fejes

SAGES Fellow Nárcisz Fejes has been awarded a $6,000 Collaborative Grant for a symposium titled Food Justice, Food Sovereignty: Transforming Our Food System from the Baker-Nord Center of the Humanities. The symposium will feature faculty workshops, events by student organizations including the campus chapters of Food Recovery Network and Slow Food, a local food exhibition, film screening and forum, as well as a keynote speech by Eric Holt-Gimenez. Agroecologist and executive director of the Oakland-based Food First, Holt-Gimenez will address the social inequity and inherent unsustainability of the global food system in his lecture. Please save the dates for Food Week CWRU 2016 (April 11-15) and Holt-Gimenez’s keynote address on April 14th, 2016, 4:30 pm (Wolstein Auditorium).
