Gabrielle Bychowski writes article about transgender people in Middle Ages

Anisfield-Wolf SAGES Fellow, and lecturer in English, Gabrielle Bychowski has written about the existence and experiences of transgender people in the Middle Ages. The article, “Were there Transgender People in the Middle Ages?” was published in The Public Medievalist, which features research on society in medieval times and other relevant topics. Bychowski discussed gender dysphoria, transitioning, transphobia and transgender art in the piece, amongst other subjects.
